The whole day was good for India except some unexpected resistance from Moises Henriques who saved Australia from suffering an innings defeat.
Having lost the openers quickly, Australia depended on Clarke to for an outstanding innings for a turn around, but it was Ashwin who turned it the other way round. Ashwin caught Clarke leg before wicket while batting on 31.
Soon, Peter Siddle (2), James Pattison (11) and Mitchel Starc (8) were dismissed paving way for Nathan Lyon to the crease. From there on, it was Lyon and Henriques who showed some hardcore resistance to get Australia off the trail. Together, this pair added 50 runs in 97 balls for the 10th wicket partnership.
Henriques was the top scorer of the day with 75 runs and pick of the bowlers in India were off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. Henriques and Lyon will resume Australian innings on Day 5.
