CRICKET great Ian Chappell looks on his time at Prince Alfred College as a key reason he has been lucky in life.
He claims a person has the building blocks to excel in adulthood if they have good health, parents and education.
Yesterday, the former Australian cricket captain and his brother Trevor returned to PAC to open the $15 million Recreation, Education and Development Centre.
“The facility is fantastic – a lot different to the gym when I was at the school,” Ian said.
“They have a good tradition of excellence.
“I spoke with (brothers) Greg and Trevor on Monday night and asked them what they got out of PAC and they said the same thing. Our education encouraged us to express our talents.”
The centre includes an aquatic centre, squash courts, a sports science centre, a gymnasium catering for basketball, tennis and cricket, and a Hall of Fame.
