Islamabad: Former Pakistan fast bowler Aaqib Javed has described pacer Wahab Riaz as an underachiever.

The former Pakistan bowling coach is now the coach of the United Arab Emirates. In an interview given to Pakpassion, Javed, who represented Pakistan in 22 Tests, said he was disappointed with Riaz’s international career.

Riaz, he said, had poor levels of concentration and was not able to cope with the pressures of international cricket.

The report further said that Javed believes Riaz is a fit player with a good pace and honed cricketing skills but needs to focus on self-development as his over-excitement at the game spoils his delivery.
