HTC One, the upcoming flagship smartphone from HTC has come out with its official pricing which is Rs 42,900 for the 32GB variant. The handset will be available for sale from the end of April, 2013.
For Reliance users HTC offers 1GB of 3G data free for 3 months with the purchase of the HTC One and also unlimited sharing of music, pictures and videos via WhatsApp and Facebook. Here we have given a short recap of what the smartphone offers and a rush through on its competitors.
Key features :
The HTC One is powered by Snapdragon 600, 1.7GHz quad-core processor with 2 GB RAM and runs on Android 4.1.2 operating system. The device holds a 4.7 inch screen with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution which translates to 468 in pixel density.
Another new feature which the HTC One holds is the 4 megapixel rear Camera which is blessed with the newly developed imaging technology which the company calls as ‘UltraPixel’. This means that each pixel is much bigger than those available in other smartphones as the camera of HTC One has a bigger sensor. On the connectivity front, HTC One offers Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, NFC and LTE too.
HTC has dumped the plastics and has come up with aluminium casing for the One. The device is made of a unibody chassis which is also thin and light to handle. Black and white are the colors on offer.
The BoomSound feature developed by HTC will be available for the first time with the One. The device will come with a front facing stereo speakers with a dedicated amplifier. HTC has also integrated the Beats Audio and other technologies include the ‘Sense UI’, ‘Sense Voice’ for better voice clarity.
With all that discussed, the HTC One seems to be a value-for-money product from the Taiwanese technology giant. Considering the price of iPhone 5 which demands Rs 45,500 out of your wallet for the 16 GB model, HTC One is surely a better choice. The One also outsmarts the Nokia Lumia 920, which is priced Rs 38,500, with its light and sleek build.
The concerning issue that HTC faces is the launch of Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone which is being hotly anticipated by buyers across the globe. If Samsung S4 impresses users in practical use and comes with a competitive price tag, then fortune of HTC One will be a question mark for sure.
However, HTC might make an impact in the market with its upcoming HTC First smartphone, which has been developed in collaboration with Facebook.
