May 02, Colombo: Sri Lanka's major Tamil constituency Tamil National Alliance (TNA) plans to file a large number of cases demanding the lands taken over by the military for security purposes, reports from Sri Lanka's Northern Province say.
TNA had reportedly summoned the people, who make claims for land supposedly taken over by the military, to provide them legal assistance to file the cases.
TNA MP M. A. Sumanthiran had said that they would file a case in Colombo against the acquisition, later this week, and appealed to people to file at least 5,000 cases in various courts.
TNA and other Tamil groups say that 6,000 acres of land are taken over by military for the High Security Zones.
