Shahid Afridi has quashed all reports of him joining Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League
Islamabad: Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi reportedly met chief of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Nawaz Sharif on Sunday to condole the death of his brother, but denied reports of him planning to join the opposition party.
The Express Tribune quoted the cricketer, as saying it is not necessary to be a politician to ensure the public’s welfare.
According to the report, Sharif had kept in touch with Afridi during his father’s illness.
Afridi also expressed his interest in building a school and hospital in his village, the report added.
