SOMERSET needed only two of the scheduled three days to defeat Cardiff MCCU by nine wickets at Taunton Vale CC.

Somerset began the day on 195-7 and added a further 30 runs to establish a first-innings lead of 122.

The students slumped to 66-6 in their second innings, before an unbeaten 52 from Adam Miles, which included nine fours, ensured Somerset would have to bat again.

Spinner Jack Leach was the most successful of the Somerset attack as he returned 4-26 in 22.5 overs.
