Sethi Says No To Butt

PCB has rejected Salman Butt’s demand of treating “all players equally” after consultation with “top Lawyers” in UK.

Pakistan Former Test Captain, Salman Butt, called for equal treatment of all three players involved in notorious spot-fixing scandal in the summer of 2010. Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif, and Mohammad Aamer were found guilty of arranging no-balls in Lord’s Test against England.

Since Najam Sethi took the charge of PCB, Mr. Sethi is pushing to shorten the ban on the young Mohammad Aamer who is serving five years suspension.

In the wake of these efforts by the PCB Chariman, Butt asked for the similar treatment for the rest involve. But, Mr. Sethi declined the Former Test Captain. The former said, “The PCB took the British QC [Queen’s Counsel] opinion, which advised only in favour of Amir for various reasons. So I am pursing his case,”

Aamer, who turns 22 today, is already facing the minimum duration of ban as per ICC rules.
